Eating vegetables full of pesticides is as dangerous as eating animal products, so why bother?
Organically grown, non GMO foods are always to be preferred. Period. As for vegetables, even if they were chemically treated, they have advantages over meat and animal products.
All vegetables are packed with enzymes essential for digestion. Without enzymes, the body needs to produce them, thus consuming energy and other valuable resources. Unfortunately, animal products have none, and this is the main reason for feeling sleepy after a big meal. If you don’t believe it, try eating only a big green salad for lunch and you’ll see for yourself.
All the vitamins and essential minerals are found in greater quantities in plants and the body needs to work less to assimilate them. On the other hand, meat and animal products have complex molecular structures, thus requiring more work to be done to extract the nutrients and leaving significant waste and acidity behind. Think of plant foods like “clean fuel” while animal products are “polluting fuel”.
Yes, vegetables get sprayed with various chemicals. Some are even GMOs. Whenever possible, avoid them completely. Especially the GMOs pose significant dangers, as they are not recognized by the body as proper foods. As for chemicals, the animals are being fed with exactly the same plants. In addition, animals are injected with antibiotics, various other medicines and hormones. As a result, animal products (meat, dairy, eggs) have a much higher buildup of toxins than plants, simply because they are exposed to them all their lives.
